Pakistan's former Test cricketer Mushtaq Ahmed urged fellow countrymen to stay united in the ongoing tough times.
In a video message shared from his official Twitter account, Ahmed said politicians should come on one page and think about the betterment of Pakistan.
"This is our country and we all need to work for its betterment," said Ahmed who represented Pakistan in international cricket from 1990 to 2003.
"This is the time when we all should come closer to each other and think about Pakistan. Politicians should come on one page to work for our country. We need to avoid spreading hate. We all are Pakistanis, spread love," he added.
The ongoing political unrest in Pakistan has put the entire nation in worry. After former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested earlier this week, protests sparked all over the country.
Many cricketers including Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akram, Mohammad Hafeez, and Waqar Younis condemned Khan's arrest. Mushtaq, who also played under the captaincy of Khan during their cricketing days, reacted to the ongoing situation.
Khan is arguably the greatest cricket captain Pakistan has seen, with the national side winning the 1992 World Cup under his leadership.
He played 88 Tests and 175 ODIs for Pakistan over the course of his illustrious career.
